Really Fat People

I don’t get it. I really don’t.

How can a person become extremely obese in modern society? It really shouldn’t be possible.

I’m not talking about cuddly, teddy-bear overweight people. I’m talking 450 pounds or more (when you can’t blame genetics or “big bones” any longer).

I used http://www.nowloss.com/how-to-lose-weight-keep-it-off-permanently.htm to do some calculations:

Let’s say you somehow managed to get to 330 pounds. Just to maintain that weight you’d have to eat about 3400 calories a day and don’t do any exercise whatsoever. I’m struggling to get 3000 calories stuffed down my throat on days with heavy activity.

Nausea aside (large people have expanded their stomachs, so they can contain more food, I realize that), you’d still have to eat all the time to gain more weight, when you’re already really overweight.

I enjoy eating tasty food, but I really don’t find it very exciting nor entertaining. If I have to spend much more than twenty minutes eating, I’m going crazy – it’s just way too boring.

And eating more than 3000 calories a day is a really expensive hobby. So you’d need a job to pay for all the food. With a job you have even less time to spend eating.

I don’t get it – it shouldn’t be possible. Unless you eat at McDonald’s every day – and you’d still have to eat like fifteen cheeseburgers. I get sick after eating five. Fifteen every day – yuck!

That’s the kind of activity, that’s going on inside my head, when I just sit around and do nothing. I really need a hobby.
